San Antonio

Sooooo …. I had a strategy to hit the rodeo and the tour bus …. Sooooo …. I successfully worked my way a bit through the full-time RVer learning curve. The hop-on-hop-off bus stopped at: Botanical and Japanese gardens, the Zoo, historical buildings, and a couple of old churches. None of which I was interested. I decided to visit what interested me. The Alamo exhibits and a saloon billed as authentic Old West. Below are photos of the Alamo thing and the saloon. The Alamo, as famous as it is, is a story about a fort that was overrun in a battle with Mexico. Always heard about it, thought it would be interesting, but …. not so much. The “Saloon” wasn’t authentic at all. It was a bar with a very modern interior that was themed as Old West. The rodeo would have been a great show but … It was tied to the big-name acts that followed and was in a very large arena. I do not purchase tickets to anything that puts me in the nosebleed area, just because you cannot see much, therefore, why do it? Following the rodeo was Miranda Lambert. Nosebleeds were 40 bucks, good seats were 400 bucks. I would have loved to see this combo but it was not worth $400 to me. So, bottom line, San Antonio was a bust. Looking forward to Austin!
